Designer Spotlight: Ian Leino

We got a chance to talk to T-shirt designer, Ian Leino at this year’s Tampa Bay Comic-Con, in Tampa, Florida. In today’s video, he explains the process of designing shirts for websites such as TeeFury and Woot.com. He also talks about what he loves most in the design process and how he “fell backwards” into t-shirt design.

I have owned at least one of Ian’s designs for a few years. In December of 2013, I bought his amazing Doctor Whoville design for both myself and my husband.

He has updated the design over the years, to include new Doctors, but the shirt remains one of my all time favorite t-shirts.

I also own Ian’s Benedict Cumberbatch inspired design, “Cumber Batch Kids.”

My favorite thing about this shirt, is that it came with a Cabbage Patch Style Birth Certificate. Amazing! 🙂

Another one of my favorite’s is the Mt. Bustmore Design.

The fit is right on (something I struggle to find in girl’s sizes) and the material is super soft and comfortable. Also, I love the Ghostbusters, and this is actually my first piece of Ghostbusters themed apparel.

He even designed a pair of the wonderful Teefury leggings we love so much: Argyle Fighters.

Check out Ian’s Work for yourself on his website, and don’t be surprised if you see his work pop up on other daily t-shirt design sites.

He is kind of a big deal. 🙂
