Do you like Tacos? Do you really like tacos? Like do you really, really like tacos? Of course you do, duh! Do you like social media friendly pop-up museums? Do you like hot sauce? Do you want a ton of photos of you hugging hot sauce bottles and becoming one with tacos? Tacotopia is the place for you! It’s leaving Los Angeles but is popping up again in Tempe soon! We got the chance to check it out in it’s final days in LA with Fashionably Nerdy friend, Aly

This pop-up is all about the gram (instagram) all rooms are tiny and super primed for taking photos for instagram – I literally think every Tuesday is going to be Taco Tuesday for the next year on my social media. There was a ton of branding for the size of the small rooms – bringing in Tequila, Soda, and Hot Sauce sponsors to help deck them out. We did manage to get some great shots that maybe make it seem like we love tacos more than we do… I mean – who does’t love tacos – but there were so many rooms… after 2 hours we had to call it quits (we only skipped like the last 2 rooms but it was just overwhelming…) and of course we went to go eat…. Tacos when we left… touche…

But did they serve you tacos? No… i’ve seen on social media that there were days where there were tacos being served but not the day we went – we got a free soda of our choice and there was a station with chips where you can try every flavor of Cholula hot sauce (the Chipotle was my fave) that they make.

They did give us a coupon for free tacos at a place close by but we opted for the super famous, El Coyote (Classic Taqueria in Los Angeles over 85 years old) which was closer to my house and we avoided hitting worse traffic this way…

Was there any super weird or unique things about this pop-up? You can ride a bucking taco…. yeh, like a bull… but it’s a taco…

My favorite rooms at Tacotopia were probably anything to do with avocados – because after 15 years of Los Angeles living I’m hooked on those lil green mushy delicious fruits… yup, avocado is a fruit… mic drop…
