Lulu turns 3 this week… I cannot believe it – it’s a combination of where has the time gone and I feel like she has always been a part of our lives…
I love planning these little parties at our home where friends and family come to celebrate with us.
I’ve wanted to do a traditional magic party for awhile and 3 seemed like the perfect time to do it. Our neighbors have bunnies and are performers so, I recruited them to be our entertainment suitable for 3 year olds (basically just having a bunny to pet is great entertainment).
but, I’ll breakdown all the details here incase you want some ideas for your own magic themed parties.
Decor:
-Lots of Balloons (Oriental Trading, Amazon),
-Oversized Playing Cards (AliExpress)
-Magic themed Banners (AliExpress), and Playing Card Garland (AliExpress)
-Red and Yellow Flowers (Trader Joes) in a Top Hat Vase (from IKEA – a few years ago)
-some pennants
-Lulu’s Favorite Things List (I make every year)
-Polka Dot Runner for the Buffet (Amazon)
-Polka Dot & Striped plates (left overs from our post-wedding brunch)
-Polka Dot & Striped Popcorn boxes (left over from our wedding)
Lulu’s 1st Birthday was Mickey Mouse themed so I had some Black, White, Red, and Gold items like balloons, etc left over from that party that were perfect. Our Wedding was Polka Dots (+Fandom & a lot of Harry Potter) so, we had a bunch of Polka Dot stuff from that still.
For food I wanted a lot of red and white / black and white and bunny themed things

Fashions:
Lulu was extremely fashionable in a red, kate spade dress (a gift my mother gave her) and I wore a very “magicy” print dress from Nooworks. Lulu’s nails matched her decor with red (Cover Girl – Star Wars Collection), black (Hot Topic) and white polka dots (Essie), and glittery gold (Essie) accent nails.
I think everyone enjoyed themselves a lot, especially the birthday girl – adults told us the magic portion was the perfect amount for not only the kids but for everyone. We are so fortunate to have such amazing friends, family and neighbors that were really the ones that made the day special.
Have you had a Magic Themed Party? What would you do differently or are excited to try?
