Where have we been? The Covid 19 Pandemic has been crazy. As both Samantha and I have been busy raising toddlers in a pandemic quite a bit has changed for us. Samantha started a new business making polyhedral dice for RPG games like D&D, her amazing venture is called: Artemis Dice Company. She has spent a lot of time educating others on her journey and creative process on TikTok. Me? (Stephanie), I have not only been raising my 2 toddlers (5 & 3) but also welcomed a new little one in January. So, I now have 3 children and have expanded my etsy to include a few designs of nerdy baby onesies that I felt were missing from my collection of baby clothes. I think for some people the pandemic allowed space to be super creative and introspective – I know personally for me it didn’t allow me much extra space to do much but survive. I did try my hand at finding the perfect recipe and baking challah bread, creating chalk drawing obstacle courses for the kids, assembling puzzles, playing team trivia online in our new bubble (that included both my next door neighbors and friends that happened to live on our block), Tie Dying all the things, and eventually after an exhaustive 2 years of consistent searching, finding and purchasing our first home as a family and doing renovations and decorating it (always a work in progress). So while survival was never boring it left little room to continue writing about geek chic fashion, travel, and events. Events were barely happening and my body was going through major changes after some interesting hurdles following the birth of my 2nd child. While i have forced myself to participate in some fashion challenges – the biggest challenge of all is finding how to dress the body I currently live in. I do love this body – It has successfully housed 3 incredible children and it has taken me to do very cool things in amazing places, however, It is very hard to see all my clothing that I love simply not fit… also we also had a very odd break-in during our move where the thieves only stole a popcorn maker and my fandom themed clothing and accessories… it was both devastating and odd. So, this is me returning… I will try to write more, be kinder to my body, try to get my health and wardrobe back to a happy place, attend more events, and possibly return to conventions (I’m still not sure if I’m ready yet – but we potentially have fashion panels coming soon to conventions). I have embraced TikTok and in turn have found many new fashionistas and fashionist-sirs that I’d love to share with you that I love all the content I see them creating. I can’t wait to share ideas on outfits, products, and toys/books to help spread nerdiness to the little ones in your life. Lastly, I’m excited to show you what’s been going on in our home and also Samantha recently relocated and bought a new home as well so, I’m sure she will share some of that with you too! I’ve missed our community and each of you – you inspire me!
